Anthill Farms Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir

Product Details

The Anthill Farms Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir is the team's largest production wine with just over 1,200 cases being produced in the 2022 vintage. Coming from all practicing organic vineyards, this is blended from three vineyards across the Sonoma Coast including Calera, Pommard, 115, and 777 clones of Pinot Noir. Fruit is tended by the winemaking team and hand harvested for ultimate control. Aged for 16 months in 20% new French oak, this is a benchmark example of the elegance and power of Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir.

From the winery:

A brilliant ruby color. As always, pretty and lifted upon pouring with a step up in aromatic and textural intensity over previous vintages. Delicious and inviting aromas of dark cherry and raspberry, spicy floral notes with subtle cinnamon and nutmeg base notes that transfers to the palate. Blended from all the single vineyard wines from more approachable barrels, this selection has come together beautifully. Energetic wine with tons of appeal, texture and sweet length. This turns deeper and gorgeously floral and spicy over time in the glass. 50% whole cluster.

Anthill Farms is an exciting project that focuses on producing exceptional Pinot Noir from a broad range of North Coast vineyards. The properties are managed with intensive and meticulous farming practices, with minimal ecological impact. As for winemaking, there are two unchanging goals: to make wines that express the growing site and the characteristics of the vintage above all else, and to make wines that, simply put, taste good. These goals require gentle handling from crushing to bottling, judicious use of oak, and, perhaps most importantly, leaving the wine alone as much as possible.
