When in the past technique and science weren't enough, the old farmers had no choice but to hope for magic, in fact the Langa is full of old testimonies and legends concerning magic. Usually these stories are linked to natural disasters, such as the advent of new, unknown diseases, or particular and adverse climates that arrived throughout the year and close to the harvest. Even Cesare Pavese in his book "The moon and the bonfires" described the magical rite of fire to drive away the "masche" in the days before the harvest, describing it as the most magical moment of the year. We have dedicated this vineyard to magic, rediscovering an old story rediscovered in the 80s when two anthropomorphic stones were found at the head of a row of an old vineyard, called "camongin" on the Vesime hill, the last survivors of twenty-four carved pairs that marked the vineyard landscape. It is possible that the stone vineyard was created to counter the drama of phylloxera, a disease which destroyed European viticulture at the beginning of the 20th century. Magical thinking represents a system of oral knowledge, capable of interpreting the world and fighting daily challenges. Talismans, stones, spells, prayers are expressions of the culture of a community that was looking for solutions, even transcendent ones, to face calamities, to divert destiny towards serenity, to fight the curse. In addition to being organic, this vineyard, thanks to its twelve stones, is also magical... We don't explain how, but the wine that is born is better.
