SurSur is fresh and fruity with hints of aromatic herbs to match light dishes from vegetarian to seafood appetizers. Sliced pears, green apples, lemons and fresh basil on the nose. Juicy and crisp with medium body and a fresh finish. We love this wine for its Pinot Grigio-like texture and lightness, but with the personality and zest of Sauvignon Blanc.
It's ok if you have never heard of Grillo. The grape is native to Sicily, where it is the key grape in making Marsala. The Donnafugata winery is home to a historic cellar in Marsala that dates back to 1851 and a 667-acre estate at Contessa Entellina planted to a diverse range of grapes. The company employs state-of-the-art, sustainable viticulture techniques paying particular attention to the preservation of the environment. The winery was one of the first wineries in Italy to produce all of its electricity from solar energy, taking advantage of the bountiful Sicilian sunshine.
