We continue to ferment our Rosé block by block to better embrace the unique character of each. In 2022, we made a few notable changes, adding more early-picked Merlot to the blend, with Petit Verdot driving color and depth. This year we chose to direct-press Malbec, for this rosé, which brings bright acidity and fresher stone fruit aromas. Cabernet Franc provides the background herbal and savory notes that have always supported the fruit in this bottling, and this is likely the last vintage we retain a skosh of Syrah. 2022 has a bit more brightness to it, coming from the cool evenings and dry weeks leading up to harvest. This vintage also displays a more delicate color compared to the 2021 (due to not soaking the Malbec in 2022). The citrus tones of our Rosé take a bit more of a leading role, edging the berry character to the side, just a bit. 2021 has more density, but continues in our “classic” style, fresh, energetic and thirst quenching.
Tasting Notes: aromas of strawberries, white nectarine, and red grapefruit, balanced with Meyer lemon, clementine, and a touch of salinity. This year's vintage brings heightened acidity, enhancing the texture and leaving a lasting impression of freshness. With its harmonious blend of flavors, this rosé offers a poised and complete tasting experience.
