Founded in 1978, Kistler Vineyards is a small, family-owned and operated winery specializing in the production of Burgundian style Chardonnay and limited amounts of Pinot Noir. Grapes are estate grown and purchased from vineyards in Sonoma County. In 1992, Kistler Vineyards moved all production to its Vine Hill Road Vineyard in the Russian River Valley.

The winery produces 4 vineyard designated Pinot Noirs that are carefully blended to create their Sonoma Pinot Noir. Most of their single vineyard wines are only available via mailing list, so we are always happy when Kistler becomes available.

Tasting Notes: refined and silky texture, with integrated tannins, and loads of ripe red fruit, complemented by notes of toasty vanilla, cinnamon, and a hint of cedar.
