The Vantage Vineyard is on one of the coolest sites on the property. High on a ridge with a panoramic view of Stellenbosch and its surrounding mountains with the Atlantic ocean in the distance. 

Tasting Notes: This star example of South Africa's signature Pinotage grape is full-bodied and bold, with intensely concentrated flavors of cassis, blackberry, dark cherry, and pepper on the palate, which is smoky and leathery. 'Vantage' is produced from low-growing bush vines for extra flavor concentration and elegance, fermented with wild yeasts, and then aged in partially new French oak for 20 months. It is a perfect pairing for venison and game meats.

Since 1994, Remhoogte has been crafting premium wines in the esteemed Stellenbosch region of South Africa. With a similar climate and soil to Bordeaux, the region produces exceptionally complex wines. Remhoogte Wine Estate produces amazing small-batch values from some of South Africa’s best grapes. The estate focuses on minimal intervention, allowing the terroir and the grapes to tell their own story. All of Remhoogte’s wines are made using sustainable practices and are unfined and unfiltered (i.e., vegan!).

Tasting notes and analysis: Colour: Deep Ruby Aromas: Cassis, black cherries, raspberries, red pepper and cinnamon. 

Palate: Bright and juicy with a delicate acidity and soft tannin. Long, lightly savoury finish.

The wine will mature for 5 to 10 years.
