The wine has a dark ruby red colour with a dark blue glow. The smell of Skaramuča Plavac is characterized by a combination of sweet notes, dried or even baked fruit with mild aromas of cherry, vanilla and coffee with a hint of Dalmatian grass. This plavac has a powerful taste with a specific bouquet with ripe aromas of cherries and plums, bit peppery and clear tannins.
Plavac from Vina Skaramuča is a fruity style plavac made exclusively in stainless steel tanks. Because of this you get the pure taste of this indigenous grape in this wine. Literally Plavac Mali means 'Little Blue'. The grapes are very small with a lot of skin and therefore the wines have plenty of tannin. The grape is an ancient brother of the Californian Zinfandel and the Italian Primitivo.
The tradition of viticulture and winemaking of SkaramuÄa family is as old as the family from PeljeÅ¡ac itself. The true success story of the winery starts in 1992, when its founder, Ivo SkaramuÄa, was enabled to operate as a private grape and wine producer in Croatia.
Ivo Skaramuca was one of the founders of the private winemaking and viticulture in the Dalmatia region of Croatia, and on an island off the coast. Skaramuca is the proof of how with hard work, dedication, and love for wine, it's possible to establish one of the most respected wine brands of Dalmatia.
