The Trossos del Priorat winery is a young winery, founded in 2004, with the idea of producing wines of terroir, expressive wines that represent the whole personality of the Priorat. Lo Món is made with four typical varieties of Priorat: Grenache, Carignan, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. The grapes come from small vinyards owned by the winery, grown organically in the town of Gratallops. The soils are slate, called licorella in the Priorat. This soil gives the wine a very special personality. The harvest is done manually and grapes undergo a double selection. A first selection is made in the vineyard, and a second in the cellar.
Lo Món is aged for 12 months in 225 litre French oak barrels. One third of the barrels are new, another third are a year old, and the rest are two years old.
Tasting Notes: Deep crimson red color to the rim. On the nose, black fruit compote together with black spices and notes of licorice. Smooth and velvety in the mouth with tannin tension for structure. A long warm finish that brings back the aroma of sweet spices.
Varietal: Garnacha, Syrah, Carignan, and Cabernet Sauvignon
